Clarity starts with
the evidence.
The owner of this directory had all five listed masks independently tested at SIQ in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to check each one against its manufacturer’s published specifications.
The SIQ reports are held on file. They are used to check manufacturer claims, not to publish rival figures, so the specifications on this site remain the manufacturers’ own, each linked to its source.
The laboratory
SIQ, the Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology ↗, provides testing, calibration, inspection, and certification services. Linking to its website identifies the laboratory; it does not establish a particular device’s test outcome.
Three sources. Three different questions.
Manufacturer specifications
What does the brand say? Nominal wavelengths, LED counts, treatment times, and design are attributed to model-specific brand documentation.
Independent laboratory measurements
What did the test sample deliver? Publish the report number, sample identification, test date, mode, distance, instrument, calibration, uncertainty, and raw findings where the report supplies them.
Clinical evidence
What happened in people? Optical testing alone does not establish clinical efficacy. Any outcome claims need a separate, relevant study and a description of its limits.
A comparable test needs comparable conditions
Different modes, measurement distances, and sampling locations can produce different readings. A single peak measurement is not interchangeable with an average across the treatment area. That is why this site does not quote isolated figures.
What a comparable test record contains
- Exact model, revision, sample identifier, and number of units tested.
- Laboratory report reference, date, and actual test scope.
- Measurement conditions and instruments used.
- Results with units, uncertainty where provided, and any limitations.
- A downloadable report or permitted excerpt supporting the data.
Testing is not an endorsement
A report records tests within a defined scope. It should not be described as SIQ certification or approval unless the accompanying documentation explicitly establishes that status.
Editorial transparency
LED Decoder and its SIQ testing are funded independently by the directory owner. The site is edited by Amanda Welsch in Berlin. The owner has no commercial relationships with any of the brands listed. Independence of laboratory measurements and independence of editorial recommendations are separate disclosures.
